How do I get started?

Getting started is as easy as packing your gear and heading to our practice location. But before you do, go to 'how to join' or give us a call (714-803-7718) or you can email us. Showing up to practice a few minutes before practice starts will give the coach an opportunity to go over any paperwork and explain the practice.

How 'fast' do I have to be?

If you can run/ walk at least a mile you are ready to get started. A majority of our members have never been on a running team or had any prior coaching. Your coach will match you up with other runners in our club.

Any practice tips for a new runners starting out?

We will build the distances over time and the duration of each session. Always start slow and try to finish strong. Don't get discouraged - it usually takes the first 2-4 weeks for your body to adapt to breathing and adjusting to running exercises. Talk to one of the coaches if you are feeling discouraged or that you are not making the progress you think you should be making.

Do the coaches provide instruction?

Absolutely! Our coaches are experience runners and athletes. They are there to teach you the proper mechanics and training techniques. The coaches are also there to organize each practice and make sure practice etiquette is being followed. If you have a question regarding technique or a training set please don't hesitate to ask the coach.
